Montana Electric Cooperative Chooses Virginia Transformer for Reliability

As part of our effort to help ensure a more reliable and resilient electrical grid, we recently delivered a new power transformer to Flathead Electric Cooperative in Lakeside, Montana. Built at our VTCU facility in Pocatello, Idaho, this 15/25 MVA, 230/12.47 kV power distribution unit is designed with a 60-year lifespan to provide reliable power to the region.

Established in 1937, Flathead Electric Cooperative maintains more than 5,000 miles of overhead and underground power lines, serving the entire Flathead Valley and Libby, along with several hundred members along the Montana-Wyoming border. Flathead Electric is the largest electric cooperative—and the second-largest energy utility—in Montana.

Virginia Transformer is proud to support electric cooperatives across the country by delivering the highest-quality transformers with the shortest lead times in the industry. Congratulations to our manufacturers’ representative from Pacific Power Reps, Tim Lish, who led this sale, and all those involved who helped to design, manufacture, and deliver this unit.
