As part of our commitment to support U.S. manufacturing, we recently delivered a new transformer to Charter Steel’s mini steel mill in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio. This 10/12.5 MVA, 11.47/4.16 kV power distribution unit was built at our Rincon, Ga., facility and designed with a 60-year lifespan to help provide decades of dependable power for the mill and other critical equipment at the site.
Charter Steel is a U.S. supplier of special bar quality steel (SBQ), providing green rod and fully processed steel made of 90-percent recycled materials to customers worldwide. Charter Steel’s Cuyahoga Heights location operates a fully integrated mini mill with expert rolling capabilities and a melt shop that uses electric arc furnace technology.
