Delivery for East River Electric Cooperative in South Dakota

Virginia Transformer recently delivered a new transformer to East River Electric Cooperative’s Oldham substation in South Dakota. Built at our Roanoke facility, this unit will help strengthen the electrical grid and supply power to homes and businesses in the community.

Headquartered in Madison, South Dakota, East River Electric is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative. East River receives power from Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) and delivers it to 24 member electric cooperatives and one member municipal utility in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.

Virginia Transformer appreciates the confidence that East River Electric Cooperative has placed in our company. We are proud to support rural electric cooperatives throughout the United States by supplying units designed with a 60-year lifespan and delivered with the shortest lead times in the industry. Congratulations to our manufacturers’ representative from EUSCO, Jacob Edland, who led this sale, and all those involved who helped to design, manufacture, and deliver this unit.
