Georgia Transformer proudly served as a chief sponsor for the Effingham County Memorial Stair Climb, held on September 14 at Effingham County High School. The event was part of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs, which honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Throughout the day and into the night, participants climbed the equivalent of 110 stories (the height of the World Trade Center towers) while carrying nametags of the fallen, symbolically completing the FDNY firefighters’ final rescue mission. Funds raised from the event directly support NFFF programs for families of fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Service Unit.
As part of our sponsorship, Georgia Transformer covered the entry fees for 10 local firefighters and 80 police officers so their teams could climb free of charge. We also provided 20 open spots for the community, encouraging local residents to participate and reflect on the first responders who gave their lives in service to others.
Georgia Transformer is proud to have sponsored the Effingham County Memorial Stair Climb, reflecting our steadfast commitment to honoring first responders and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
