Virginia Transformer has been the industry leader in providing power transformers to the Public Power Utility sector for more than 25 years. With the addition of Georgia Transformer, we offer a complete portfolio to the market from small power up to large auto-transformers. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Virginia, Georgia, Idaho, and Mexico have a strategic advantage to manufacture transformers and provide service across our great nation. We are supported by manufacturer’s representatives in every state who are focused and dedicated strictly to serve the public power industry. Our manufacturer’s representatives work hand in hand with our dedicated public power sales organization, broken down into 4 separate regions across the country to better serve our customers.

Virginia-Georgia Transformer is fully approved for RUS funding from all our factories. This approval ensures that customers will have no issues using RUS funding for their transformer purchases.

We comply with the “Buy American Clause”, and we are proud of the fact that we can supply the largest spectrum of power transformers manufactured in the United States.

We are one of the few companies that completely designs, manufactures, tests, and supports field installation from each of our factories. With a dedicated engineering staff, they are able to design, check, and follow each project from inception to completion and ensures the conceptual design is the same as the final product. Additionally, each of the factories are ISO 9001-2015 certified. Our ISO process along with our rigorous quality assurance team verify and validate that our transformers are manufactured to the highest industry standard to provide decades of trouble-free service.

A member of our devoted team of project managers is assigned to each project. This project manager will provide day-to-day progress reports to our clients as needed to ensure that they stay up to date on the progress of the project. They will be the prime contact point from the beginning of the order starting with our “kick-off meeting” and continuing up to the time of shipment.

Each of our factories are state-of-the-art; utilizing brand new core cutting machines that provide a core that has a burr limit of less than 20 Microns. We manufacture step lap core utilizing the highest grades of grain-oriented core steel; this ensures extremely low core losses and reduces the noise of the transformer in operation. The coils are wound on vertical and horizontal winding machines; they are constructed from the highest quality of conductor wire or CTC (continuously transposed cable) as specified by our state-of-the-art design software. We utilize an industry leading vapor phase drying process in our factories that ensure the final product is fully dried prior to final sizing and tanking. All factories are equipped with updated testing equipment to thoroughly test every transformer per IEEE-C57.12.90-2010. We’re able to provide annual certifications on all our test equipment to ensure their accuracy and certified test reports for every transformer we manufacture.
