Did you know that you don’t have to cross the ocean to buy a large power transformer? We make those right here, in Rincon, GA.
We recently shipped a 168MVA 230kV Autotransformer to the City of Ocala, FL. We also shipped another 100MVA 135kV Auto to Algonquin Power in Canada. These transformers are made by GTC owned by Caravels, LLC, a VTC family company. The GTC plant is in Rincon, GA, USA and it was built by Efacec of Portugal in 2008 for the production of core and shell type transformers with ratings up to 1400MVA 500kV. This technology is now owned by Caravels, LLC
Since the acquisition of the Rincon plant, we have reinforced the engineering staff. Rogelio Martinez now heads the engineering group that has over 100 years of combined experience in designing extra high voltage large power transformers. Rogelio himself comes with outstanding EHV transformer design experience gained at Prolec, VA Tech and Siemens.
Please consider us for your next Large Power application. Of course, you can continue to count on us for your small and medium power transformer requirements.
What they’re saying
“We’ve used Virginia Transformer for many years, they’ve been great to work with.”
