Mechanical Quality Engineer
Summary:- Process control and verification High-voltage area includes crimping, brazing and tanking audit, metal fabrication includes welding inspection and nondestructive testing and Incoming material inspection plan. Corporate Oil quality controller/automation of oil quality monitoring and elimination of failures including customer complaints and in-house failures in all plants. Corporate New Vendor development and evaluation, supplier surveillance and Quality audits to make sure suppliers to meet Quality and on-time delivery. Analyze and record all internal and external defects and failures, root cause analysis and problem solving with permanent corrective actions. Corporate Special projects including validation and verification of the process, products and implementing preventive measures to eliminate failures and engineering development projects. Provide technical training for shop personnel in order to instill quality in the process, including hands on training, and to assure quality of the process.
Required: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or related engineering positions within the transformer industry. Must have 2 years of experience with QMS; Quality Tools (Cause and effect, Pareto, Histogram, check sheet, Scatter diagram and control charts); and Planning, production and quality activities including: production support, inspection plans and Incoming Quality Inspection plan per AQL. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification required. National travel required 20% of the time.
