The Oil & Gas sector is one of the largest and most focused industry worldwide. There are a large number of logistics and phases which must be undertaken for potential Oil & Gas sites to be located, then pumped, shipped, processed, and sold. Since this is such a long process and there are so many different companies and smaller industries that rely on different parts of the process, it is very common for the Oil & Gas industry to be classified into three sectors: Upstream, Midstream and Downstream.
The last stage of the process, the downstream sector, involves the actual processing and distribution of natural gas and oil based products. The downstream sector commonly refers to the refining of petroleum crude oil and the processing and purifying of raw natural gas, as well as the marketing and distribution of products derived from crude oil and natural gas. The downstream sector reaches consumers through products such as gasoline or petrol, kerosene, jet fuel, diesel oil, heating oil, fuel oils, lubricants, waxes, asphalt, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as well as hundreds of petrochemicals.
Downstream is also referred commonly to include those industries that use the products and by-products of the Oil & Gas fracking as one of their main input raw materials. Typically, this covers the entire Petro-Chemical industries. VTC-GT is a favored equipment supplier for reliable powering of the process plants and is serving many industries in this mission.
