Massey Energy

Working with Massey Energy, VTC has provided spare transformer and replacement transformers throughout their mining operations to include Elk Run Coal, Mammoth Coal and Progress Coal.  These units are designed for power distribution with small motor loads.  Massey Energy’s support system includes over 240 miles of beltline and moves over 100 million tons of coal annually.

The power transformers that VTC manufacturers effectively operate in a coal dust laden environment.  Utilizing a circular disc design, all of the transformers are also designed with a reconnectable configuration, as the incoming voltage vary by location. Massey Energy has provided Virginia Transformer Corp an opportunity to showcase power transformers for the mining industry.
