Environmental, Health and Safety Manager The EHS Manager is responsible for directing the organization's safety programs to protect employees and the company against harm, and maintain safe working conditions formulating and suggesting work safety standards, and enforcing procedures. The EHS Manager shall help monitor risk prevention areas including hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions. Compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations shall be met. Conducts investigations of accidents, and suggests preventive solutions. Examines potential unsafe working conditions and advise management on safety corrective actions as needed. Directs activities of safety committee and provides safety training. Performs safety inspections, and prepares reports. Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems. This is a hands-on job and 50%+ of time will be spent on the shop floor.
Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements:
OSHA Certification Training preferred.
Experience: Company will provide necessary training; however, previous experience is preferred in the area of general safety, and strong working knowledge of OSHA and Federal, State and Local safety regulations/codes is preferred. We are looking for candidates that have a stable work history and have a desire to grow and develop their career with us. A successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree. 5-10 years experience without a degree will be considered.3-5 yrs experience in a medium to heavy plant of 100 to 500 people.
