Virginia Transformer Corp has been supplying transformers for Utilities throughout the US and Canada since 1990.  Annually we supply over 3,000,000 kVA of capacity to IOU, REC and Municipal Utilities.  Approximately a third of these units feature On-Load Tap Changers.

Additionally, we have supplied dozens of units for use as Unit Auxiliary and Generator Step-Up duty for Power Generation use.

With over 150 man-years of Transformer Design experience, Virginia Transformer Corp knows how to meet your specification and expectations.  MidAmerican Energy states that VTC met 100% of their expectations in the execution of their 13.3 MVA, 69 kV unit.

Our goal is to provide our utility customers with the best value transformer and service. Conectiv Energy has stated that VTC demonstrated our commitment to excellence in our on-time delivery with no issues on their 28 MVA, 69 kV Wye to 25 kV Wye; Load-Tap Changing unit.

We offer up to 100 MVA 161 kV rated units and as low as 500 kVA, 5kV designed and manufactured in one of our three North American Facilities.

We feature Circular Disc Windings for high voltage and Helical Disc Windings for low voltage for units of 5000 kVA and above.

Virginia Transformer Corp has had more than 20 units subjected to short circuit testing by an independent lab.  While ANSI allows a 2% change in impedance, the last two units we had tested came in at less than 0.2%; a full order of magnitude better than required.

Virginia Transformer Corp is also a market leader in three-phase voltage regulators up to 69 kV class.  These are power class units with reactive type LTC.
